About

Against a musical backdrop that takes in the likes of Steve Earle, Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell, London-based singer-songwriter Guy Nottage lends a strong sense of Englishness to a particularly American soundscape. His distinctive throaty bellow has been likened to a young Van Morrison, his onstage intensity to that of Connor Oberst and his vivid lyrics are reminiscent of Bruce Springsteen – if The Boss were to sing about the English Riviera, decaying seaside towns and the London riots, that is.

The new EP Carousel sees Guy taking on all instrumental, programming and production duties, and was recorded out of a suitcase between bedrooms in Bath and London, as well as his parents’ kitchen in Norfolk. Already a regular on the London singer-songwriter circuit, you can catch Guy performing songs from the EP across the capital and beyond in 2012.
